During the visit, a meeting was held with President of the Federation of Syrian Chambers of Commerce Alaa Omar al-Ali and Director General Muhammad Omir al-Khomisi.

The Federation of Chambers of Commerce of Syria is the central organization uniting chambers of commerce of all regions of the country and representing the interests of the private sector at the state level. Currently, it includes the Chambers of Commerce of Damascus, Aleppo, Homs, Hama, Latakia and other regions, as well as thousands of private companies and entrepreneurs.

During the talks, the sides discussed the development of trade and economic cooperation between Uzbekistan and Syria, as well as the establishment of direct business contacts between entrepreneurs of the two countries.

The Syrian side stressed that after a long period of instability, the country is returning to an open economic policy, giving priority to the development of investments and industry.

The high interest of the Syrian market in the products of Uzbekistan, in particular in the goods of the electrical engineering, construction and food industries, was noted.

Recall that on November 25 of this year, at an extraordinary session of the Kengash of People's Deputies of the Samarkand region, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev announced that three trade advisers in Iraq and two in Syria would start working at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry from the beginning of next year.

The parties supported the initiative to establish close cooperation between the Chambers of Commerce and Industry of the two countries. Uzbek entrepreneurs were invited to participate in the international exhibition "Damascus International Fair–63", which will be held in Damascus next year.

In addition, an agreement was reached to organize a visit to Uzbekistan by a delegation of major Syrian entrepreneurs in the first quarter of 2026, as well as to hold a business forum and B2B meetings.
