Uzbekistan and Turkey strengthen cooperation in the field of culture

    The second meeting of the Committee on Culture of the Uzbek-Turkish Intergovernmental Commission was held in Antalya.

    The Uzbek delegation at the event was led by Deputy Minister of Culture Murodjon Majidov, and the Turkish delegation was led by Deputy Minister of Culture and Tourism Batuhan Mumcu.

    During the meeting, issues on the bilateral agenda were discussed and agreements were reached on holding Days of Turkish Culture in Uzbekistan this year and Turkey's participation in the opening ceremony of the Center for Islamic Civilization, Dune news agency reports.

    In addition, the parties agreed to strengthen cooperation in the production of videos and TV series about the history and personalities of the Turkic world, the study of scientific and cultural heritage stored in Turkish archives and libraries, and receiving their facsimile copies, establishing direct cooperation between the Institute of Cultural Studies and Intangible Cultural Heritage of Uzbekistan and relevant scientific institutions of Turkey.

    The parties agreed to continue joint efforts to bring cultural cooperation between the two countries to a higher level, promote the culture of the Turkic world on an international scale, and transfer rich cultural values to the younger generation.

    The official presentation of Shavkatjon Ortikov, appointed representative of Uzbekistan in the structure, also took place at the headquarters of the TURKSOY International Organization of Turkic Culture in Ankara. With this ceremony, he officially began his activities within TURKSOY.

    The event was attended by Secretary General of TURKSOY Sultan Raev, Deputy Minister of Culture of Uzbekistan Murojon Majidov, diplomats of the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Turkey, the leadership of the organization and all employees.

    In his speech, TURKSOY Secretary General Sultan Raev highly appreciated Uzbekistan's place in the cultural heritage of the Turkic world and ancient history. He noted that cooperation with our country is strengthening every year, in particular, the number of jointly implemented cultural projects has been increasing in recent years.

    Deputy Secretary General Sayid Yusuf stressed that cultural cooperation with the Turkic world has become a priority within the framework of an open and active foreign policy pursued under the leadership of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev. It was recognized that with the beginning of Uzbekistan's activities in TURKSOY, the organization has become a full-fledged international platform, and that it serves to strengthen the historical, spiritual and cultural community of the Turkic peoples.

    With the new appointment, Uzbekistan's participation in TURKSOY has reached a new level and our country's activity in the Turkic cultural space will be further enhanced. This will not only expand the possibilities of cultural diplomacy in Uzbekistan, but also strengthen unity and harmony among the Turkic peoples.
