Uzbekistan has sent a protest note to the Russian Foreign Ministry on the facts of violations of the rights of its citizens

    The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan considers the protection of the rights and legitimate interests of its citizens residing or temporarily staying abroad as a priority.

    On June 10, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan hosted a regular meeting with the Russian side, held on a monthly basis and dedicated to migration issues.

    According to the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan, concern was expressed at the meeting about reports of cases of illegal inspections, rude and disrespectful treatment of Uzbek citizens on the territory of the Russian Federation.

    The Uzbek side stressed that such incidents contradict the spirit of friendly relations between the two countries and require taking concrete measures to prevent them.

    The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan considers the protection of the rights and legitimate interests of its citizens residing or temporarily staying abroad as a priority.

    In this regard, the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Moscow is also conducting a dialogue with the Russian side through diplomatic channels.

    Uzbekistan calls for ensuring compliance with international and humanitarian law in relation to all citizens.

    An appeal was addressed to the Russian authorities to show respect for the citizens of Uzbekistan and not to infringe on their honor and dignity.

    Following the incidents in Moscow, the Embassy of Uzbekistan sent a note to the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs demanding clarification on these cases, as well as a legal assessment of the actions of law enforcement officials who violated human rights.

    The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan is keeping this issue under constant control and will take additional measures if necessary.
