The event, held at the Merode residence, brought together more than 150 representatives of the business circles of Uzbekistan and the EU countries. The opening ceremony was attended by Teresa Ribera, Executive Vice President of the European Commission, Laziz Kudratov, Minister of Investment, Industry and Trade, Bakhtiyor Saidov, Minister of Foreign Affairs, and Pierre-Paul Anthenissens, Chairman of the Management Board of EuroUz.
In his speech, Laziz Kudratov stressed that mutual trade between Uzbekistan and the EU has almost doubled in recent years, from $3.2 billion in 2018 to $6.3 billion in 2024, and reached $4.5 billion (+9%) in January-August 2025. By joining the GSP+ system, Uzbek manufacturers have gained expanded access to the European market, which contributes to export growth and the development of joint ventures.
The head of MIPT presented to the participants the reforms within the framework of the strategy "Uzbekistan-2030" aimed at liberalizing the economy, introducing digital and "green" technologies, improving the investment climate and supporting the private sector.
Special attention was paid to four priority areas of cooperation: mining and critical minerals, pharmaceuticals, digitalization, and the food industry.
The forum included panel sessions on investment, Eurasian connectivity, and sustainable use of natural resources. Among the speakers were representatives of the European Investment Bank, the OECD, SUEZ, SES, Greystar Real Estate Partners and other leading organizations.
As a result of the event, eight agreements and memoranda were signed in the fields of investment, logistics, pharmaceuticals, digital technologies and industrial cooperation. Among them are the Agreement between MIPT and EuroUz, contracts for the supply of cable products, as well as agreements between Uzkimyosanoat and NEXTCHEM S.P.A., UZ-SAT joint venture and SES and VEON companies.
The Forum has become an important platform for strengthening economic ties, confirming the high level of trust and interest between Uzbekistan and the European Union in developing a strategic partnership.
