Specialists of the Laboratory of Chemistry of High Molecular Weight Plant Substances of the Institute of Chemistry of Plant Substances of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Uzbekistan have developed the optimal recipe for obtaining environmentally friendly, fully biodegradable films. The development is based on water-soluble polysaccharides obtained from local plant raw materials.
The new films are similar in appearance and mechanical properties to traditional polyethylene materials, but their main advantage lies in their safety for nature. Such materials easily decompose in soil and water, leaving no harmful substances.
The developers note that biofilms can be widely used in the food and pharmaceutical industries. Their use will reduce the amount of plastic waste and reduce the burden on the environment.
The creation of a biodegradable film based on local resources is not only a scientific achievement, but also a practical step towards the development of a "green" economy. The new development can make a significant contribution to solving environmental problems and shaping a sustainable future.
