Expansion of economic and educational partnership between Uzbekistan and Hungary discussed in Budapest

    On July 17, Budapest hosted the 10th anniversary meeting of the Uzbek-Hungarian Intergovernmental Commission. The delegations were led by the Minister of Investment, Industry and Trade of Uzbekistan Laziz Kudratov and the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Economic Relations of Hungary Peter Szijjarto.

    The parties discussed ways to deepen trade and economic cooperation, launch new projects in industry, transport, energy and education. Special attention was paid to the implementation of a joint industrial zone in the Tashkent region, as well as the creation of conditions for the expansion of Hungarian investments.

    As a result of the negotiations, two memoranda were signed - on the educational program Stipendium Hungaricum and industrial cooperation between the Basalt Group and MOL.

    The meeting ended with a business forum where the prospects of Hungarian companies' participation in the New Tashkent, digital transformation and infrastructure development projects in Uzbekistan were discussed.

    The anniversary meeting of the Uzbek-Hungarian Intergovernmental Commission was held at the Groupama Arena stadium, located in the Ferencvaros metropolitan area in Budapest.

    At the end of the discussions, the heads of delegations got acquainted with the equipment of the multifunctional stadium with a capacity of about 22 thousand spectators.
