The event, which took place in one of Egypt's leading research centers, was attended by members of the Egypt-Uzbekistan Friendship Society, representatives of the country's political, scientific, business circles and media.
Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan Furkat Sidikov provided detailed information about the large-scale reforms carried out in our country. In particular, he spoke in detail about the projects implemented within the framework of the Action Strategy for the five priority areas of development of Uzbekistan in 2017-2021. Special attention was paid to the fact that this year, together with the general public and civil society institutions, a Strategy for the development of New Uzbekistan for 2022-2026 was developed.
The Development Strategy, based on current global events, identifies seven priority areas for the exaltation of human dignity, ensuring the rule of law and economic development.
It was noted that the consistent reforms carried out under the leadership of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev have opened a new stage in the development of the country - the New Uzbekistan. Special attention was paid to the fact that the head of our state has established open and friendly relations with foreign countries, and the Central Asian region has been identified as a priority direction of foreign policy.
The moderator of the event, Director of the Cairo Center for Strategic Studies Ahmad Muslimani, noted that over the past five years a New Uzbekistan has been built and great successes have been achieved in domestic and foreign policy.
He noted that Cairo and Tashkent have great potential and opportunities to bring bilateral relations to a higher level. There are also historical and cultural ties and prerequisites for the development of cooperation in various fields. In particular, more than 60 bilateral documents have been signed, and the legal framework allows us to develop new areas of cooperation.
The dean of the Faculty of Cairo University, Knight of the Order of "Dostlik", Professor Ahmad Rajab Rizk noted that the relations between the peoples of Egypt and Uzbekistan date back a thousand years. According to the scientist, the nilometer built by Ahmad Ferghani in Cairo, the Uzbek neighborhood in the capital of the country, the Tulunid, Mamluk and Ayyubid states in Egypt and many other examples confirm the long history of our friendly relations.
Senator of the Egyptian Parliament and editor-in-chief of the newspaper "Ash-Shuruk" Imaduddin Hussein, noted that over the past 30 years Egypt and Uzbekistan have jointly implemented a lot of positive things, and expressed confidence that the untapped potential of the two states will serve as a strong basis for further expansion of friendly relations between the peoples of our countries, the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan reports.
