According to the Report, this was announced by the mayor of Tripoli, Abdel Hamid Karima, on his X account.
"At the moment, six bodies without signs of life have been found under the rubble, seven more people have been recovered alive, they were injured and sent to the hospital," he said. "Rescue efforts are continuing, and the number of casualties may increase."
Karima stressed that he had asked the government to declare the ancient quarter of Bab Tabban, where two residential buildings collapsed in recent days after heavy rains, a disaster zone.
"We are urgently evacuating people from neighboring buildings that are in disrepair," the mayor said.
The Prime Minister of the Republic, Nawaf Salam, expressed condolences to the families of the victims, promising to bring to justice "all those who may have been negligent." He called on the opposition to refrain "from attempts to use the terrible tragedy in Tripoli for selfish political purposes."
