The Ministry of Finance of Pakistan discussed issues of joint implementation of upcoming bilateral events

    The Ambassador of Uzbekistan Oybek Usmanov met with the Minister of Finance of Pakistan - Senator Ishaq Dar.

    During the meeting, Ishaq Dar noted that "thanks to the political will, the new strategy of interaction and the hard work of our leaders, the relations between the fraternal countries have reached a new strategic level of partnership."

    "We attach great importance to the development of bilateral economic relations with Uzbekistan and expect to significantly expand cooperation in various sectors, including trade, transport connectivity, energy, education, science and technology, as well as cultural and humanitarian ties with Uzbekistan," the minister said.

    He stressed that "thanks to the signing of agreements on transit and preferential trade, the mutual trade turnover between our countries increased by 130 percent in the first 10 months of this year compared to the same period last year, and we have sufficient potential to achieve the goals and objectives set by the leaders of our countries."

    The Finance Minister of Pakistan assured that, as Co-Chairman of the Intergovernmental Commission (IPC), he intends to actively implement bilateral agreements and agreements of our leaders in close cooperation with his colleagues from Uzbekistan. Ishaq Dar noted that the Pakistani side plans to hold a meeting of the IPC in the second half of January 2023 in the city of Tashkent, the Dunyo news agency reports.

    In conclusion, the Finance Minister stressed the readiness of his team to work closely with Uzbek colleagues for the joint implementation of upcoming bilateral events.
