An Uzbek evening in the format of a festive Iftar was held within the framework of the Ramadan Tent with the participation of Muslim communities, muftis and political figures of Russia, as well as compatriots and students living and studying in the Russian capital, the Dunyo news agency reports.
This year's project is dedicated to the 80th anniversary of Victory in World War II and is being implemented under the slogan "Memory is stronger than time."
This cultural and educational project was organized by the Spiritual Board of Muslims of Moscow with the support of the Spiritual Board of Muslims of Russia and the metropolitan government. According to the established tradition, thematic events, interactive dialogues and meetings with honored guests take place here every evening throughout the Holy Month.
The program of the Uzbekistan Evening included performances by representatives of the Embassy of Uzbekistan, concerts and the screening of documentaries about the contribution of our republic in the Second World War.
During the event, presentations were also held on the modern development of the New Uzbekistan, the cultural and tourist potential of our country, with a special focus on pilgrimage tourism.
The guests were provided with detailed information about the rich history of Uzbekistan and the great contribution of the great ancestors of the Uzbek people to world science and culture, including such brilliant thinkers as Imam al-Bukhari, Imam al-Termizi, Abu Ali ibn Sino, whose scientific and cultural heritage has not lost its relevance to this day.
During the cultural and educational program, the guests were presented with creative performances, as well as unique videos revealing the essence and significance of the ongoing large-scale changes and reforms in Uzbekistan, including in the religious and educational sphere.
The Russian side emphasized that Uzbekistan's religious policy aimed at strengthening interfaith dialogue and religious tolerance in society is an important factor for stability and security in the region.
Also, as part of the event, the Embassy of Uzbekistan organized an exhibition for the guests dedicated to Uzbek culture and the tourism potential of our country.
The Ramadan Tent project is being implemented throughout the month of Ramadan and is primarily aimed at organizing charity iftars.
The evenings will be organized by about 10 countries, including Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Afghanistan, a number of CIS countries, as well as regions of Russia. As part of the daily cultural program, guests will be able to get acquainted with the history and traditions of the evening organizers.
