E. coli has been found in popular types of ice cream sold in Uzbekistan

Based on the appeals of citizens, the Antimonopoly Committee conducted a control purchase of seven types of “Хоттабыч” brand ice cream produced by X XASANBOY VA XOLOD LLC, the packaging of which states that it does not contain sugar.

The purchased ice cream was transferred to three accredited laboratories for research.

According to the conclusion of the laboratories, Escherichia coli bacteria were found in the “Хоттабыч” brand ice cream of the types "Eskimo", "Banana", "Pistachio", "Chocolate", "Plum" and "Sundae", which makes it non-compliant with the requirements of SanPiN 0366-19 for bacteriological indicators.

In addition, it was revealed that the amount of sugar in the products is twice as high as the established norms. There are also about 10 types of information data that are mandatory for the consumer.

The checks are currently ongoing.
