In Samarkand, experts hold a working meeting to discuss the electric power industry of Central Asia

    On October 25, the 42nd meeting of the Coordination Commission began its work in Samarkand. In accordance with the objectives of the agenda, the issues of effective management of existing water resources in Central Asia, that is, agricultural irrigation during the growing season of 2023, were initially discussed.

    An urgent topic is the problems expected in the autumn-winter period of 2023/2024 and their solutions, in addition, new power units (stations) being built in the region, the connection of renewable energy sources to the electric power ring system of Central Asia and their rational use.

    The international event is attended by representatives of electric power organizations of Tajikistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Turkmenistan. Experts from the Russian Federation participate as observers.

    On October 26, the participants plan to discuss the issues of land reclamation, cascade shutdown, electricity flow and others.
