In the Samarkand region 130 objects of cultural heritage are under threat of extinction

    A press conference on the preservation of cultural heritage sites was held in the Samarkand region.

    "1,607 objects of material and cultural heritage have been registered in the Samarkand region. In order to identify, record, protect, popularize objects of material and cultural heritage, maintain the state register, electronic catalog, passport and state cadaster, identify protected areas and carry out permanent state control in this area, a number of works were carried out," said the head of the territorial department of Cultural Heritage Botir Shaymatov.

    In particular, 815 security signs and 244 road signs have been installed at the facilities. Public inspectors have been attached to 1537 objects and state cadastral documents have been prepared. 13 WI-Fi and QR codes, as well as 50 audio guides are installed in the objects of material cultural heritage with tourist potential.

    "Also, 1,607 objects have been submitted to the Cultural Heritage Agency for repeated historical and cultural examination, 789 objects have passports issued. In addition, information on the issue of 130 archaeological objects of cultural heritage under threat of extinction was provided to the Cultural Heritage Agency," Shaymatov added.

    Over the past period, 176 new archaeological sites of cultural heritage have been identified in the region, and work is currently underway to study them. Work continues on the installation of modern turnstiles for electronic registration of the passage of local and foreign tourists at the attractions of the region.
