Representatives of Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Russia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan and the CIS Executive Committee took part in the event via videoconference.
Addressing the participants of the meeting, Alexey Sazonov, Director of the Department of Humanitarian Cooperation, General Political and Social Problems of the CIS Executive Committee, noted that in recent years the Commonwealth states have been actively cooperating in the field of cinema. There is a direct communication of specialized specialists on significant issues in the field of cinematography, taking into account modern realities. Conferences and round tables are being held in the CIS countries, the film festival movement is developing, joint projects and other events aimed at developing dialogue in this direction are being implemented.
The participants of the meeting got acquainted with the practice of promoting film production in Russia and Uzbekistan, noting the positive experience of this work. It was decided to recommend to the CIS states to continue work on the promotion of national film production, including within the framework of the days of national cinema in the Commonwealth countries, as well as to expand the practice of exchanging information about national cinematographic projects.
The members of the Working Group considered the issues of supporting animated films, popularization of film festivals held in the Commonwealth, discussed the progress of work on the creation of an International Creative Association of Film Organizations of the CIS countries.
