The fourth batch of hepatitis C drugs delivered to Tashkent from Egypt this year

    The fourth batch of the drug Sofosbuvir-400mg against hepatitis C in the amount of 6,720 units was delivered to Tashkent from Egypt.

    According to the Embassy of Uzbekistan, an agreement has been reached with the government of Egypt on the transfer to Uzbekistan by 2025 a total of 800 thousand units (about 40 tons) of drugs Daclatasvir and Sofosbuvir against hepatitis C and Entecavir against hepatitis B for a total amount of 4.2 million US dollars, IA Dunyo reports.

    During 2023, some of these medicines with a total cost of 696 thousand dollars were gradually shipped to our country.

    On February 10, Uzbekistan Airways, for the fourth time in 2024, delivered the anti-hepatitis drug Sofosbuvir-400mg, allocated by the Egyptian government as humanitarian aid to our country, from Sharm el-Sheikh to Tashkent. A total of 6,720 units of Sofosbuvir-400mg in 12 boxes will be transferred to patients of the Research Institute of Virology of the Ministry of Health of Uzbekistan.

    Recall that this humanitarian action is carried out in accordance with the agreements reached during the official visit of the President of Uzbekistan to Egypt on February 20-21, 2023. Humanitarian aid contributes to the provision of support to hepatitis patients and their treatment at the expense of the State.
