During the visit, the guest of honor visited the National Children's Medical Center in Tashkent and got acquainted with the conditions created there.

A meeting was also held at the center with the participation of Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan Jamshid Khodjaev, Minister of Health Asilbek Khudoyarov and a delegation of South Korea led by Ko Yun Cheol.

It was noted that in recent years, friendly relations between the two countries have been actively developing in the field of healthcare, opening up new opportunities for joint projects.

The National Children's Medical Center, built in 2020 on the initiative of the President of Uzbekistan and worth $ 130 million, is one of the largest joint projects with the Republic of Korea. The representative of the Korean side highly appreciated the activities of the center.

Currently, a new hospital is planned to be built on its territory in cooperation with the Korea Foundation for Economic Development and Cooperation (EDCF).

The total cost of the project is $ 149.8 million, of which $ 124 million is provided as a loan by Eximbank of Korea, and $ 25.8 million is a contribution from Uzbekistan.

A new modern fourth-level medical clinic with 300 beds will create more than 700 jobs and perform up to 8.5 thousand high-tech operations per year.

The delegation also got acquainted with the construction of the new complex.

In conclusion, the parties discussed proposals to create a medical cluster in Tashkent worth $ 424.3 million in cooperation with EDCF.
