A facility with a processing capacity of 1 million cubic meters of wastewater per day will be built in the Tashkent region

    On August 13, with the participation of Minister of Investment, Industry and Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan Laziz Kudratov, representatives of Abu Dhabi Sustainable Water Solutions (SWS) and Acting Chairman of the Board of Uzsuvtaminot JSC Ahmad Suvonkulov, a signing ceremony was held on a joint development agreement for the construction of a new modern wastewater treatment plant in Kuyichirchik district of Tashkent region (JDA).

    The project provides for the construction of a modern sewage treatment plant with a capacity of 1 million cubic meters per day on the territory of the gathering of citizens of the mahalla "Surum" of the Kuyichirchik district of the Tashkent region and a sewer collector with a length of 42 kilometers, the press service of Uzsuvtaminot reports.

    The project will be implemented by a consortium of companies, which also includes SUEZ (France) and Marubeni (Japan), selected as technology partners of Abu Dhabi Sustainable Water Solutions (SWS).

    According to the preliminary parameters of the project, the capacity of the facility will be 1,000,000 cubic meters per day at the first stage, followed by an output of 1.5 million cubic meters.

    SCADA (control and data collection systems) and GIS (geoinformation systems) systems will also be implemented to ensure effective monitoring and management of wastewater treatment and transportation processes.

    The advantage of the project is that as a result of the introduction of modern technologies, the efficiency of the wastewater treatment process will increase, and the rational use of resources will be ensured.

    That is, more than 10 million kW of electricity will be saved. This project will contribute not only to the development of technical infrastructure, but also improve the sanitary and epidemiological condition of the Sergeli, Bektemir and Yangikhayot districts of Tashkent city.

    It should be noted that as a result of the project, sewerage services for almost 1.5 million residents will be improved, over 500 thousand citizens and over a hundred enterprises and organizations will have access to centralized sewerage services.

    Akhmad Suvonkulov, Acting Chairman of the Board of Uzsuvtaminot JSC, who spoke at the event, noted that the successful implementation of the project would ensure effective and long-term cooperation. He expressed readiness to implement projects beneficial to both sides for the development of drinking water supply and sanitation systems.

    For reference: Abu Dhabi Sustainable Water Solutions (SWS) is the only wastewater collection, treatment and reuse company in Abu Dhabi. More than 1,341,000 m3 of water is collected daily through an extensive network of 12,000 km, supported by more than 200 pumping stations and 42 treatment plants.
