During the meeting, issues of protecting the rights of Uzbek citizens temporarily or permanently residing in Turkey, as well as searching for missing compatriots were discussed, the Dune news agency reports.
During the negotiations, the parties agreed to strengthen the exchange of information on the operational search for missing citizens, establish mechanisms for direct interaction between relevant agencies and create a joint working group.
Issues of improving the procedure for receiving appeals from foreign citizens by local law enforcement agencies, as well as organizing meetings with Uzbek citizens held in penitentiary institutions were also considered.
The Turkish side highly appreciated the attention of the Uzbek government to protecting the rights of its citizens and efforts to find missing compatriots.
