In Uzbekistan, the names of railway stations will be brought in line with the norms of the state language

    The names of railway stations, stations and sidings included in the structure of O’zbekiston Temir Yo’llari JSC will be brought into line with the rules of the state language. The relevant Resolution was adopted by the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

    The document, approved on October 17, 2025, obliges the Ministry of Transport and the O’zbekiston Temir Yo’llari company to ensure the replacement of signs and information signs at railway stations, stations and sidings within three months. All inscriptions must be made in the Latin script of the Uzbek language in strict accordance with the norms of the state language.

    Relevant documents and databases will also be updated in this regard.

    The list of objects whose names are to be adjusted includes 320 railway stations, stations and sidings in the Republic of Karakalpakstan, regions and the city of Tashkent.
