This was announced at a press conference dedicated to the marathon under the slogan "A letter of memory to a new generation."

According to the Ministry of Defense, World War II was the bloodiest war in human history. More than 70 million people died in it, of which 27 million died on the battlefields. Uzbekistan made a significant contribution to this victory - from our republic, with a population of 6.5 million people, more than 1 million 951 thousand people were sent to the front, of which 538 thousand died.

During the war, Uzbekistan became an important logistics center. 280 new enterprises have been established here, production of military products has been established, and our republic has received more than 1.5 million evacuees, including 250,000 orphaned children.
