The ministry noted that against the background of the cold snap, the daily consumption of natural gas by the population increased by 20% compared to last week, and electricity consumption by 15%.
To eliminate malfunctions at electric and gas supply enterprises, more than 1,600 special teams have been created, which work around the clock and have special equipment and necessary supplies. The average time to eliminate an accident has decreased from last year's 3-3.5 hours to 1-1.5 hours this year.
The Ministry of Energy stressed that, unlike in previous years, mandatory restrictions on the supply of electricity are not introduced due to the commissioning of new generating capacities.
However, the cold snap led to a sharp increase in the demand for natural gas from domestic consumers. Despite the fact that the facilities of the gas transmission system are operating at maximum capacity, including scheduled daily gas extraction from underground gas storage facilities and transmission to the network, there is a decrease in gas pressure in the pipelines.
The ministry called the main priority the provision of natural gas to residential buildings and social facilities, including medical, school, preschool and higher education institutions.
"In accordance with the plans and schedules developed jointly with local governments, it is planned to introduce short-term restrictions on the operation of automobile gas filling compressor stations in some regions with high consumption," the Ministry of Energy reported.
In turn, regional and district khokimiyats will provide information about the introduction of restrictions on their pages on social networks. To track the schedule of gas stations, drivers are recommended to use the new Avto24 mobile application.
