A thermal power plant with a capacity of 174 MW has been commissioned in the Khorezm region

    On March 10 of this year, a new gas-piston power plant with a capacity of 174 MW in the Khorezm region was put into operation and began to supply power to the unified energy system of Uzbekistan.

    The project was implemented by the Turkish company "Odash Enerji CA".

    The power plant built in the Yangiaryk district will generate 1.4 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity per year. Thanks to the high efficiency of the project equipment, 175 million cubic meters of natural gas will be saved annually.

    At the expense of the saved natural gas, it is possible to additionally generate 800 million kilowatt-hours of electricity, which can provide 350 thousand homes per year.

    The project, worth $ 105 million, is fully financed by foreign direct investment - by the company "Odash Enerji CA". 350 employees were involved in the construction, and as a result of the project, 60 new jobs were created in the district.

    This project was implemented on the basis of public-private partnership in accordance with the Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated 07/24/2021 No. PP-5195, the press service of the Ministry of Energy reports.
