The Center of Islamic Civilization in Uzbekistan, which occupies an important place in the cultural and scientific life of the country, today effectively functions as a modern space of knowledge and enlightenment.

Combining a modern museum, a research center, and an innovative library, the Center presents the rich heritage of the ancestors in a new format to a wide audience.

A modern library is an intelligent environment equipped with digital technologies, an advanced information space. It combines rare sources, electronic resources, and interactive services, which provides users with maximum comfort and efficiency. Special attention is paid to information services and the creation of a healthy, safe environment.

In modern libraries, the introduction of technologies that meet hygienic requirements is of particular importance. As one of such innovative solutions, the LIVA LBS601 book sterilizers, developed by the South Korean company Evertree Co., Ltd, are installed in the library of the Center.

This device allows you to simultaneously sterilize up to six books in a short time. Currently, the Center's library uses two such sterilizers, which provide fast, efficient processing of hundreds of books throughout the day. Books are placed in a special chamber, after which the door of the device is closed, UV-C lamps are activated. The built-in fan opens the pages slightly, allowing UV rays to penetrate into the interior of the book. As a result, books are completely disinfected. Users can watch the process through the viewing window of the device.

Sarvar Mamatkulov, Project Manager of Smart Library Company:

"LIVA sterilizers allow you to completely disinfect books in just 60 seconds. Ultraviolet radiation penetrates into the external and internal parts of the book, eliminates bacteria and other harmful factors. This helps to protect the health of users and create a modern safe environment in the library.

The introduction of such technologies demonstrates that the library of the Center for Islamic Civilization in Uzbekistan has created conditions for obtaining knowledge and using it in a safe and healthy environment. In this context, the library acts as an advanced example of the synthesis of innovations and spiritual values."

For reference: the innovative library "New Uzbekistan", operating at the Center, is able to simultaneously serve up to 266 visitors. Her fund is designed for 300,000 printed books, of which 250,000 are in storage, 50,000 are in the public domain, in museum exhibitions.

The library's electronic collection exceeds 300,000 publications. Thanks to access to national and international databases, users have the opportunity to work with more than 10 million electronic resources. Currently, the total fund of the library exceeds 35 thousand units.
