The event was attended by schoolchildren and young people, including more than 250 students from 15 countries who arrived in Uzbekistan to participate in the Al-Khorezmi International Olympiad in Mathematics and Computer Science.
The guests got acquainted with the activities of the Center for Islamic Civilization, its scientific and educational projects, unique expositions and materials reflecting the rich historical and cultural heritage of the Uzbek people.
Visitors were particularly attracted by the book exhibition, which featured hundreds of publications on the history of Islamic civilization, cultural heritage, religious tolerance, science, education, and spiritual and educational topics. A special emphasis was placed on the formation of a reading culture, increasing the interest of young people in knowledge and strengthening spiritual immunity.
Participants from Turkmenistan, Tajikistan, Kazakhstan, Belarus, Mongolia, Turkey, and Malaysia also got acquainted with the capabilities of the Center's modern library, its book collection, digital databases, electronic resources, and conditions created for research activities.
According to the head of the Center's library, Ravshan Kadyrov, such events play an important role in introducing the younger generation to reading and intellectual development.
"The participants were able to get acquainted with the library's rich book collection, modern technologies and electronic resources. They were also told about the wide opportunities created for young people at the initiative of the head of state. Many expressed a desire to become readers of the library and visit the Center again," he said.
According to the organizers, the exhibition promotes the development of reading culture among young people, strengthens historical memory and spiritual and moral values, filling the idea of "Enlightenment against ignorance" with practical content.
