The mayor of Tashkent held a meeting with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia

    On April 30, Tashkent Khokimiyat Shavkat Umurzakov met with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Yusuf bin Salih al-Kahra al-Utaybiy at the Tashkent khokimiyat.

    Sh. Umurzakov expressed gratitude for the visit and said that in Uzbekistan and especially in Tashkent, at the initiative of the head of state, a favorable investment and business environment has been created for both local and foreign companies.

    Based on the open and loyal policy of the heads of both countries, he also said that it was time to discuss promising projects along with major projects currently being implemented jointly with Saudi companies. He stressed the need to increase the Kingdom's participation in projects and enterprises in the field of infrastructure development, construction, pharmaceuticals, education and medicine and proposed to develop a roadmap for the development of cooperation, as well as to organize investment exhibitions in Tashkent and Riyadh.

    In response, Mr. Al-Utaybiy thanked for the reception and noted that Uzbekistan has established itself as a reliable partner worthy of trust in all spheres, including politics, diplomacy, and business. He also thanked for the conditions created for the diplomatic corps, noted similar positions in international relations, and said that the Kingdom encourages not only trade, economic and political cooperation, but also the development of relations in the field of culture, education, and exchange of experience. He stressed the country's interest in increasing the volume of investments in Uzbekistan, in particular, in the capital.

    At the end of the meeting, the parties agreed to continue the dialogue in order to develop mutual cooperation between Tashkent and Saudi Arabia and noted that the upcoming Tashkent International Investment Forum will become a convenient platform for these purposes.
