Criminal liability has been established for forcing a person to consent to the removal of organs from him for transplantation

    The law signed by the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan (Law No. 780 of 23.06.2022), amended and supplemented some legislative acts.

    According to the amendment made to the Criminal Code, responsibility is established for forcing a person to consent to the removal of organs and (or) tissues from him for transplantation, this act under aggravating circumstances is punishable by imprisonment for a term of 5 to 8 years.

    Criminal liability has been established for engaging in the purchase and sale of human organs and (or) tissues, as well as for their export outside Uzbekistan.

    Preliminary investigation in connection with these crimes is carried out by the internal affairs bodies.

    This Law comes into force from the date of its official publication, the legal channel of the Ministry of Justice reports.
