Deputy Foreign Minister of Uzbekistan met with the Director of the Department of the British Foreign Ministry

    On June 21, 2022, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Furkat Siddikov held a meeting with Martin Harris, Director of the Department for Eastern Europe and Central Asia of the British Foreign Ministry.

    During the talks, the state and prospects of further development of multifaceted Uzbek-British cooperation were discussed.

    The British side announced its readiness to continue supporting large-scale reforms in Uzbekistan aimed at modernizing the national economy, in particular, through the program of assistance to Uzbekistan "Effective governance to ensure economic development".

    Mutual interest in realizing the existing significant potential for strengthening partnership in the political, trade, economic, investment, cultural and humanitarian spheres was confirmed.

    Special attention is paid to the issues of enhancing cooperation between the parties in providing humanitarian assistance to Afghanistan and in countering transnational threats.

    The sides also exchanged views on topical aspects of international and regional policy, the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan reports.
