Over the past 10 years, the incidence and mortality from tuberculosis have decreased by 1.5 and 15 times, respectively. Thanks to early diagnosis and treatment according to international standards, the lives of more than 135 thousand people were saved.
By the end of 2025, the incidence rate was 33 cases per 100,000 population, the mortality rate was 0.8. Compared to 2024, the incidence decreased by 3.5%, and the mortality rate remained stable.
The effectiveness of treatment of patients with newly diagnosed tuberculosis in 2025 was 92.7%.
The effectiveness of treatment of patients with drug-resistant tuberculosis reached 86.9%, which is 10.2% higher than in 2024. The six-month and nine-month short treatment regimens have been fully implemented in practice.
In 2025, 95.4% of the population at risk underwent a medical examination. As a result, 485 adults and 761 children were diagnosed with tuberculosis and received full treatment.
Among the children at risk of developing tuberculosis, 1,501 were identified, all of them received preventive treatment.
As part of the Uzbekistan 2030 Strategy, by the end of 2025, the incidence rate was 33 cases per 100,000 population (the plan is 34 cases), and more than 14,000 identified patients received high-quality medicines and a full course of treatment.
