This meeting was organized within the framework of the international Space Technology Conference - 2026 and is aimed at deepening multilateral cooperation in the field of space technology.
Against the background of the fact that the global space economy has already exceeded 500 billion US dollars and is projected to reach 1 trillion dollars by 2030, the development of space technologies is of strategic importance for the countries of the region. The participating States collectively cover more than 170 million people and a vast geographical area, which creates a significant market and wide opportunities for the development of space services, in particular, technologies for remote sensing of the Earth, communications and navigation.
The meeting was attended by the heads of the space industry of Uzbekistan, Turkey, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan and Kyrgyzstan, as well as representatives of the observer states - Hungary and Turkmenistan and international partner organizations. During the event, the results achieved in recent years were summed up and priority areas for further development were discussed.
In particular, special attention was paid to one of the joint projects implemented within the framework of the OTG, the creation of a technological satellite. This project provides for the establishment of technological transfer between the participating states, the unification of scientific and research potential, as well as the training of young specialists.
In addition, the following priority issues were included in the agenda:
widespread use of Earth remote sensing satellite data in agriculture, water management and environmental monitoring;
implementation of space technologies for early detection of emergencies and minimization of their consequences;
development of analytical platforms based on geographic information systems (GIS) and big Data;
expansion of private sector participation in the space industry;
staff training and development of joint educational programs.
In recent years, the TG countries have achieved significant results in the space sector. In particular, Turkey and Kazakhstan have launched Earth remote sensing satellites into orbit, Azerbaijan provides international services via telecommunications satellites, and Uzbekistan conducts systematic work on land and water resources management, as well as in the fields of ecology, geology and agriculture based on space monitoring.
The 5th meeting serves as an important stage in the coordination of space policy within the framework of the OTG, the formation of a joint infrastructure and the creation of a regional space ecosystem. It acts not only as a platform for political dialogue, but also as an effective mechanism for the formation and promotion of specific practical projects.
This significant event, held in Tashkent, helps strengthen Uzbekistan's active international position in the space sector, promote its innovation development strategy, and position the country as a regional technology center.
