It was reported that
citizen S.J. had been living in Pakistan illegally without a visa since 2005
and had fallen into severe social hardship. In February of this year, she
reached out to the diplomatic mission requesting help to return to Uzbekistan.
The investigation revealed
that she had traveled to Pakistan in 2005 to marry a Pakistani citizen.
However, in that same year, her spouse was involved in a road accident and
became disabled. Since then, she had been caring for him. Although his health
has relatively improved, his disability remains. It was also noted that her financial
resources were extremely limited, covering only daily necessities.
The embassy confirmed her
identity and citizenship, issuing the necessary certificate for her return.
Furthermore, following negotiations with the Ministry of Interior of Pakistan, a fine of $8,400—imposed for living without a
visa for 21 years—was waived, and she was granted permission to leave the
country. With the support of the diplomatic mission, her air travel was also
organized. She returned to Uzbekistan on May 2 via the Islamabad–Tashkent flight operated by Uzbekistan Airways.
