In a video
released by firefighters, the entrance of the pub can be seen surrounded in fire
while people are trying to escape.
At least
27 people died as a result of the fire at the Bangkok bar. Thailand's Prime
Minister Anutin Charnvirakul confirmed to journalists at the scene that 27
people had passed away.
According
to him, several victims were taken to the hospital, and the authorities are
determining the cause of the fire. A musician who performed at the
establishment said that smoke came out of the electrical panel near the stage,
after which an explosion occurred.
The exact
cause of the fire will be known after all necessary expert examinations are
completed. According to official data, firefighters needed at least half an
hour to bring the fire completely under control, reported by Kazinform.
Similar
tragic events have occurred in Thailand before. In 2022, a fire at a music pub
in the eastern part of the country killed 14 people. On New Year's Eve in 2009,
a fire caused by indoor fireworks at the Santika nightclub in Bangkok killed 66
people and injured more than 200.
