The number of victims of the earthquake in the Philippines has increased to 72

    The death toll from the earthquake in the Philippines in Cebu province has increased from 69 to 72, with 294 injured.

    According to the Report, this was reported by the GMA News channel with reference to the National Council for the Prevention and Mitigation of Natural Disasters.

    According to him, the earthquake in the north of Cebu affected the lives of 170 thousand people, about 20 thousand of them were forced to leave their homes.

    Local authorities informed that some buildings were destroyed due to the tremors.

    It should be recalled that tremors of magnitude 6.9 were recorded on Tuesday at 21:59 local time (17:59 Baku time), subsequently more than 2.3 thousand aftershocks of magnitude from 1 to 5 were recorded. The Institute of Volcanology and Seismology of the Philippines informed that the earthquake was located at a depth of 5 km approximately 20 km to the north- east of the city of Bogo.

    A state of emergency has been declared in Cebu Province. Most people died in the city of Bogo, with a population of 90,000 in the north of the province, as well as in the municipalities of San Remigio and Medellin.
