The Senate delegation participates in the Sixth World Conference of Speakers of Parliaments

    The delegation of Uzbekistan headed by the Chairman of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis, Tanzila Narbayeva, is in Geneva (Switzerland) to participate in the Sixth World Conference of Speakers of Parliaments.

    This international platform unites parliamentary delegations from 115 countries around the world.

    In addition, on the eve of the conference, the delegation will also participate in the 15th IPU Women Speakers of Parliament Summit, dedicated to leadership for an inclusive and long-term world.

    The summit's program includes a discussion of the role of women in ensuring peace and security, including through the prism of the implementation of UN Security Council Resolution 1325, as well as consideration of modern challenges such as climate change, the development of artificial intelligence and online violence based on gender and race.

    During the first session of the Summit, the results and prospects of the agenda "Women, peace and security: after 25 years - remaining challenges and ways of further development" will be discussed. In the second session, the participants will consider ways to overcome new global challenges and share successful practices.

    There will also be debates during which female speakers will speak out on topical issues related to gender equality and digital risks.

    Within the framework of the Summit, the Chairman of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis is scheduled to speak and hold bilateral meetings.
