The delegation of our country was received by the Prime Minister of the Republic of Korea Han Dak Soo. The talks discussed issues of further deepening the strategic partnership between Uzbekistan and the Republic of Korea, strengthening economic ties, implementing previously reached agreements, as well as establishing close partnerships between government agencies of the two countries.

Within the framework of the trip, the first meeting of the Strategic Dialogue between the foreign ministries of Uzbekistan and South Korea, a platform aimed at strengthening mutual trust and close partnership, was held. The delegations of the parties were headed by the Foreign Ministers of the two countries. During the talks, issues of further strengthening of bilateral cooperation in various directions were discussed. Special attention is paid to enriching economic diplomacy with tangible results. The Ministers signed a document on the results of the first meeting of the Strategic Dialogue.

The Uzbek Foreign Minister met with the President of the Assembly and the Chairman of the Council of the Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI) Ban Ki-moon. Particular attention was paid to the implementation of joint projects, including within the framework of the "GGGI Uzbekistan Country Planning Strategy for 2021-2025" and the "Strategy for the transition of Uzbekistan to a "green" economy for the period 2019-2030". The results of ongoing and successfully implemented projects aimed at reducing greenhouse gas emissions, creating "green" jobs, expanding access to sustainable services, improving energy efficiency, mitigating the effects of climate change, etc. are considered.

An Uzbek-Korean business forum was organized in Seoul, which was attended by more than 300 representatives of leading companies from both countries. The ceremony was attended by the Foreign Ministers of Uzbekistan and the Republic of Korea. It was noted that joint projects worth about $13 billion are currently being implemented in Uzbekistan. The number of enterprises operating in our country with the participation of South Korean capital has doubled over the past 4 years.

The delegation of Uzbekistan headed by the Minister of Foreign Affairs also held separate talks with the heads of a number of major companies of the Republic of Korea, the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan reports.
