In order to prevent mother-to-child transmission of HIV infection, Uzbekistan continues to implement State support measures.

In accordance with the Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated January 20, 2023 No. PQ-14, 28,248 packages of dry milk formula were centrally purchased under the state program. The products were distributed to regional AIDS control centers.

According to the Committee for Sanitary and Epidemiological Welfare and Public Health of the Republic of Uzbekistan, these milk formulas are intended for artificial feeding of children born to HIV-infected mothers.

According to the established procedure, children of this category are provided with powdered milk formulas free of charge at the expense of the state until they reach the age of six months.

Sanitary and epidemiological welfare and protection of citizens' health remain among the priorities of the state policy in the field of healthcare.
