“Druzhba” (Friendship)-2022 joint Uzbek-Indian tactical exercises have ended

    The joint tactical exercise "Friendship-2022" within the framework of military cooperation between Uzbekistan and India took place at the combined arms training ground "Yangiarik" in the Khorezm region of the North-Western Military District. This is reported by the Department of Information and Mass Communications of the Ministry of Defense.

    On the eve of the main day of the Uzbek-Indian joint special tactical exercise, the idea of a joint exercise, the specifics of reconnaissance operations in a desert area, the role of units in the siege and destruction of a conditional enemy were clarified.

    According to the training program, the main part of the exercises began with the transfer of important information of the border patrol. It was about the actions of conditional terrorist groups to cross the state border and implement their nefarious plans.

    The exercises were attended by the commander of the North-Western Military District, Colonel Farkhodjon Shermatov, Brigadier General of the Land Forces of the Armed Forces of India Deepak Sharma, the military attache of India in the Republic of Uzbekistan, Colonel Nipun Anand, state and public governments.

    Based on the current situation, an operational headquarters and a combined detachment were formed, and the joint Uzbek-Indian forces began to carry out combat missions in the designated area.

    As a result of intelligence actions, the movement of illegal armed persons in the settlement was revealed. In order to determine the number of attacking units and their number, composition and security system, the territory was monitored day and night.

    After that, a joint counter-terrorism operation was launched. As a result of the occupation efforts of the combat groups, the living forces of the conditional enemy were destroyed.

    At the third stage, a pair of combat helicopters of the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Uzbekistan carried out air strikes on the equipment and manpower of a conditional enemy, UZA reports.

    Thus, the joint Uzbek-Indian tactical exercises "Friendship-2022" ended successfully. At the closing ceremony of the exercises, the servicemen who took an active part in them were duly awarded.
