During the conversation, the current state and prospects of multifaceted cooperation between Uzbekistan and the ECO were discussed. An exchange of views took place on the development of regional cooperation within the ECO and increasing its authority on the world stage.

Kh. Noziri noted the active and energetic chairmanship of Uzbekistan in the Organization in 2022, which, at the initiative of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, was declared "The Year of Strengthening Interconnectedness in the ECO". The conviction was expressed that the comprehensive implementation of the initiatives of the Head of Uzbekistan, announced during the Ashgabat ECO Summit, will give a powerful impetus to the Organization's activities and will become a new "point of growth".

The importance of the events held under the chairmanship of the Republic of Uzbekistan, including meetings of the Regional Planning Council, meetings of heads of ministries of Agriculture and tourism, meetings on renewable energy sources, etc., was emphasized. The Secretary General also congratulated the Uzbek side on the election of the ancient city of Shakhrisabz as the tourist capital of the Organization in 2024.

The parties expressed a common opinion on the need for more effective use of the potential of cooperation within the ECO, especially in the areas of trade, investment, transport and communications, energy, in order to achieve the goals, set out in the "ECO Prospects 2025".

Organizational and substantive aspects of the upcoming meeting of the ECO Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Tashkent, as well as other events held within the framework of the chairmanship of Uzbekistan, were discussed, the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan reports.
