The girl's mother, O.M., a native of the Syrdarya region, was sentenced by the Yakutsk City Court for involvement in drug trafficking on an especially large scale to 9 years in prison. The child was born in the medical facility SIZO-1 of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia in the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia), the Dunyo news agency reports.
Since the moment of birth, the girl has been in the state institution "Republican Center for the Promotion of Family Education."
The convict's mother arrived in Yakutia to pick up the child, and asked for help from the Consulate General of Uzbekistan in Vladivostok. The consulate staff sent appeals to the Ministry of Foreign Relations and Peoples' Affairs of the Sakha Republic, as well as to the Department of Guardianship and Guardianship of the Yakutsk District Administration, asking for assistance in taking the child home with his grandmother.
The diplomats have completed all the necessary documents for the return of the girl and her grandmother to Uzbekistan. With the assistance of the Russian authorities, the child was handed over to his grandmother in accordance with the established procedure.
Thanks to the help of activists of the Uzbek diaspora in the Republic of Sakha, air tickets for the Yakutsk - Novosibirsk - Tashkent flight were purchased. On December 19, the grandmother and granddaughter flew to Uzbekistan.
