According
to available information, these citizens arrived in Dubai on December 5, 2025 for
seasonal work. However, due to the lack of permanent employment, they purchased
tickets to return to Uzbekistan in early January, but were unable to take off
because they missed their flight, Dunyo news agency reports.
Later, the
family temporarily earned from casual part-time jobs, but after the
deterioration of the situation in the Middle East, they practically lost their
job opportunities and were forced to live in various mosques. It is also noted
that after the expiration of the visa-free stay, penalties were imposed on
them.
During
negotiations with the Dubai Immigration Service, it was determined that each
family member must pay a fine of 9,000 dirhams (about $2,500), which totaled
27,000 dirhams (about $7,500).
As a result
of negotiations with the Emirati competent authorities, an agreement was
reached to allow these citizens to leave the country without paying a fine.
Additionally,
with the assistance of the Dubai Foundation for Women and Children, flights on
the Dubai - Tashkent route were purchased on June 26, after which the family
was safely returned to Uzbekistan.
