Pakistan's defense minister said that civilians were killed as a result of Indian attacks. According to him, the strikes fell exclusively on civilian targets.
A spokesman for the Pakistani army said that a retaliatory operation from Islamabad has already begun.
Relations between the countries worsened after the terrorist attack on April 22, when a group of terrorists shot tourists in the disputed state of Jammu and Kashmir. India blamed Pakistan for the attack, and Islamabad called New Delhi's reaction unfair and politically motivated.
According to security officials, 10 Indians were killed and 48 others injured in New Delhi-controlled Kashmir as a result of Pakistani strikes.
Pakistani authorities said 26 civilians were killed and 46 injured as a result of Indian strikes.
