The Islamic Development Bank is expanding its activities in Uzbekistan

    Ambassador of Uzbekistan Nodirjon Tursunov met with Anas Aisam, Director General of the Project Planning Department of the Islamic Development Bank (IDB).

    The meeting discussed issues of intensifying cooperation between Uzbekistan and the IDB, concessional financing of major projects being developed in our country, support for women and youth, and attracting technical and humanitarian assistance, the Dunyo news agency reports.

    Anas Aisam said that the unprecedented changes observed in Uzbekistan in recent years are being watched with great interest by the countries of the world. It was noted that the fundamental reforms initiated under the leadership of the President of Uzbekistan are yielding effective results and are of great importance in strengthening the country's position in the international arena.

    It was noted that, taking into account the successful implementation of the strategy of cooperation between Uzbekistan and the IDB for 2018-2022, a strategy for 2022-2026 has been developed.

    The sides exchanged views on the possibilities of financing projects in the field of transport, logistics, education, agriculture and water management, ecology, animal husbandry and other areas.

    Programs aimed at supporting women and youth in Uzbekistan were welcomed, and prospects for expanding the participation of the IDB in them were considered.

    In addition, it was decided to organize a practical trip of representatives of the IDB to Uzbekistan to constantly monitor the implementation of projects implemented by this bank and discuss future plans.
