The Islamic Development Bank will support Uzbekistan in the transition to a "green" economy

    On November 6 of this year, Minister of Investment, Industry and Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan Laziz Kudratov held talks with President of the Islamic Development Bank Muhammad Al-Jassir via videoconference.

    The parties reviewed the implementation of the points of the IDB Country Strategy for Uzbekistan for 2022-2026. It was noted that, in general, the volume of attracted investments corresponds to the schedules and is at the level of 50% of the total figure of $ 1.2 billion by the end of 2026.

    At the same time, projects to support the private sector are being implemented ahead of schedule by a subsidiary of the IDB ITF - the International Islamic Trade and Finance Corporation with an indicator of 90% of the total goals, which is two years ahead of plan.

    Further steps were discussed to implement jointly formed new projects based on PPP principles in the fields of energy, transport infrastructure development, irrigation and water resources management, education and healthcare.

    The IDB leadership expressed readiness to further provide comprehensive support to projects, including through the allocation of additional funds for innovation and technological modernization as part of the transition to a "green" economy.
