On November 30, 2025, at 09:00, the second international Silk Road race will be held in Andijan, organized by the Central Asian Walking and Running Academy. About two thousand people are expected to participate in the large-scale sports event - representatives of local and foreign running clubs, professional athletes, diplomats, students, schoolchildren and residents of the region.

The Silk Road project is aimed at preserving the historical memory of the Great Silk Road and developing interethnic and intercultural dialogue through sports. The initiative is based on the rich cultural and historical heritage of Andijan, one of the key trading points of the Great Silk Road that connected Central Asia with Chinese Kashgar.

The first stage of the series of races took place on November 2 in Khiva, where more than 1,500 participants ran through the historical part of the city among unique architectural monuments.

The second stage will be held in Andijan. The starting point will be the Zahiriddin Muhammad Babur Memorial Park Complex, a green area in the city center where about 50 species of trees are planted and the museum of the great poet and ruler, who played a significant role in the development of trade relations on the Great Silk Road, is located. The park area offers views of the city's attractions and the cable car. Next, the route will pass along Yangi Aimanma bypass street, completing a circle around the city center.

"Having great potential for the development of running, we focus on regional projects so that an active lifestyle becomes a driving force for the younger generation," said Shukhrat Usmanov, director of the Central Asian Academy of Walking and Running. - Students are already well aware of the Talaba Yugur project, created with the support of the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation, schoolchildren participate in the O'quvchi Yugur races, and socially active citizens join the Eco Save Aral initiative. The cities of Uzbekistan are united by a rich cultural heritage, the interest in which goes far beyond the borders of the country. The Silk Road project is becoming one of the connecting links of this unity."

The Silk Road - Andijan program includes 5 km and 10 km distances, a half marathon (21 km) and a Kids Run.

The cost of starter packages varies from 100,000 to 300,000 soums, depending on the category. The distribution of starter packages will take place on November 28 and 29. The starter package includes: a number with a chip and pins, a long sleeve, a cap, a backpack and a medal.
