North Korea has suspended noise broadcasts on the border with South Korea

North Korea has suspended noise broadcasts on the border with South Korea in response to the latter's cessation of propaganda broadcasts a day earlier. This was reported in Seoul.

On Wednesday, June 11, the South Korean military suspended broadcasting over loudspeakers along the border with the DPRK.

"Today, on June 12, North Korea's noise broadcasts towards South Korea were not recorded in any area," the Joint Chiefs of Staff of the Republic of Korea said.

It is specified that the last recorded broadcast from the DPRK took place late in the evening on June 1.

Recall that the new president of South Korea, Lee Jae-man, promised during the election campaign to take measures to improve relations with the neighboring country. In particular, he promised to suspend the distribution of propaganda leaflets and stop broadcasting over loudspeakers.

Lee Jae-Myung assumed the duties of head of state on June 4 after winning the election, where he received 49.42 percent of the vote. rg.ru.
