During the meeting, the parties confirmed their interest in further expanding cooperation. It was proposed to consider the possibility of opening a branch of Santander Bank in Uzbekistan, which would enhance the entry of Spanish companies into the Uzbek market, stimulating mutually beneficial investments and business development.
Special attention was paid to the issues of banking services and financial support for entrepreneurs. The parties discussed the possibility of opening direct loans and credit lines for domestic banks in Uzbekistan. Such cooperation will provide additional resources for the implementation of large-scale investment projects and increase the availability of financial instruments for small and medium-sized businesses.
During the negotiations, aspects of project financing of large infrastructure and industrial facilities and innovative solutions in the field of energy were discussed. In particular, the Spanish bank has shown keen interest in financing a number of important projects. Among them are projects for the Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Combine (AGMK) and the implementation of a solar photovoltaic power plant project jointly with the Uzbek company Solar Nature LLC.
The negotiations ended with agreements on further deepening bilateral cooperation, developing new partnership formats, and continuing consultations at the expert level for further steps towards the implementation of these tasks.
