From July 23 to August 4 this year, Portugal hosted the prestigious international folklore festival "Festival International de folklore Rio", where talented young performers from Uzbekistan, in particular the Sharq sadolari song and dance ensemble from Yakkasaray district, had a unique opportunity to promote their skills on the big stage.

Thanks to the support of the Tashkent city khokimiyat, representatives of the ensemble were able to travel to Portugal to participate in the festival. All necessary conditions have been created for them - both organizational and financial assistance has been provided.

The members of the ensemble captivated the audience and participants of the festival with their national melodies, songs and dances, conveying the unique beauty of Uzbek culture.

Each of their appearances on stage was met with a warm welcome and high appreciation from the audience.

Within the framework of the festival, the Uzbek delegation also held a meeting with the Secretary of State for Culture of Portugal, Mr. Alberto Santos, who noted:

"Such great thinkers as Muhammad al-Bukhari, Ahmad al-Farghani and Muhammad ibn Musa al-Khorezm, who became famous throughout the Islamic world and made a huge contribution to the development of world civilization, are the pride of Uzbekistan. Your people rightfully deserve deep respect for their great historical heritage."

The meeting was held in a warm and friendly atmosphere. Such international events contribute to the strengthening of cultural ties between peoples, the development of mutual respect and friendship.

The successful performance of the Sharq sadolari ensemble on the international stage has become a vivid example of the potential, art and cultural wealth of Uzbek youth.
