The agency welcomed Uzbekistan's initiative to form an integrated approach in this area, stressing that this work will help strengthen the national healthcare system, expand access to oncological care and introduce modern medical technologies, Dunyo news agency reports.

It is noted that the support will be provided within the framework of the existing IAEA technical cooperation programs, as well as the Joint Action Plan for 2025-2027. The agency emphasized its willingness to provide expert and advisory assistance, ensuring that the work carried out complies with international safety standards and best practices.

In addition, the IAEA expressed interest in continuing close cooperation with Uzbekistan on the development of nuclear medicine, radiotherapy, radiology and radiopharmaceuticals.
