According to the information provided, the monument was dismantled by the local authorities due to the fact that the place of its installation was deemed insufficiently worthy to perpetuate the memory of the thinker. It is noted that in the future, a larger and more appropriate memorial complex is planned to be built on this site.

At the same time, it is emphasized that the decision to dismantle the monument was not coordinated either with the Ministry of Culture and Information of Afghanistan or with the general public, in connection with which the Afghan side expressed regret.

The Afghan authorities assured that the memory of Alisher Navoi, who is the spiritual heritage of not only the Uzbek, but also the Afghan people, will be properly perpetuated. In particular, it is planned to improve the territory, install new information boards about the poet's life and work, erect a new monument, as well as assign a square named after Alisher Navoi.

The Afghan side stressed its firm commitment to preserving the memory of the great thinker, significant for the whole of Central Asia, and promised to take all necessary measures to honor his name with dignity.
