Recently, cases of illegal use of energy resources, in particular natural gas, by consumers have become more frequent. This is primarily due to the expansion of digitalization in the industry and the improvement of the control system.
Thus, according to the Uzenergoinspektion, from December 1, 2024 to February 15 of this year, 167 cases of illegal use of natural gas were identified. As a result of the illegal consumption of 82.158 million cubic meters of gas, the state suffered damage in the amount of 210.428 billion soums.
In addition, according to Hududgaztaminot JSC, during the same period, 6,472 cases of illegal gas consumption were identified by the company's responsible employees. According to these violations, a recalculation was carried out for 50.89 million cubic meters of natural gas in the amount of 117.3 billion soums.
Also, during the specified period, the illegal sale of 77.8 tons (equivalent to 36 thousand cubic meters) of liquefied gas in 4,942 household gas cylinders was prevented.
It should be noted that the total volume of illegally used natural gas amounted to 133.0849 million cubic meters. This volume of gas is equivalent to the monthly winter consumption rate of 266,170 households. Moreover, if this resource were used rationally, gas stations with methane could operate smoothly for 10 days.
Relevant documents have been drawn up for all identified cases and submitted to the control authorities.
To prevent illegal gas consumption, the Prosecutor General's Office, Uzenergoinspektion and other responsible authorities carry out constant monitoring measures.
