From November 13 to 15, residents and guests of the Turkmen capital will be able to immerse themselves in the world of feature films and documentaries imbued with oriental flavor. The main theme of the festival was the 300th anniversary of the birth of the great master of the word Makhtumkuli Fraga.
The premiere of the joint Turkmen-Uzbek film "Magtymguly Pyragy" about the life of the great Turkmen poet Makhtumkuli Fragi will take place within the framework of the film festival. The film, dedicated to the 300th anniversary of the classic's birth, became one of the most anticipated premieres of the film festival, Turkmenportal reports.
The main filming took place in the historical locations of Bukhara and Khiva in Uzbekistan, where the great poet spent his early years. Thanks to the joint work of scientists from the Academy of Sciences of Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan, new facts from the life of Makhtumkuli were discovered during the creation of the painting, which were reflected in the plot.
The film was directed by the famous Uzbek cinematographer Muzaffarkhon Erkinov. The main role was played by a young Turkmen actor Akhmet Amandurdiyev, and the role of the poet's father, Dovletmammad Azadi, was played by People's Artist of Turkmenistan Chari Berdiyev.
According to one of the screenwriters of the film, Ore Dashgynov, the picture not only tells about the fate of the outstanding classical poet, but also emphasizes the centuries-old friendship between the Turkmen and Uzbek peoples. The film was created in two languages - Turkmen and Uzbek, and will be shown in both countries.
